COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF ATTITUDES TOWARD STABILITY AMONG STUDENTS FROM RUSSIA AND USА

The results from comparative analysis of the attitudes toward economic and political stability among students from Russia and U. S. are presented in the paper. Both general and special characteristics of the attitudes toward stability were highlighted in the analyzed student groups of the two countries. The similarities are more shown in the estimates and concern about the adverse economic situation due to the global crisis. However, the specific problems of the two countries are reflected in the differences which were found in the estimates of the economic and political stability indicators, the role of government in economic regulation, ethnic issues and the political activity. The difference between the most significant destabilizing factors was also shown. It is concluded that there is a request for stability from the students to the state and society. This could be a symptom of a fundamental need for social stability as a condition for normal development.
