FATHER-CHILD RELATIONS IN DIFFERENT TYPES OF FAMILIES

The study investigates the parameters of father’s relations to the children due to the configuration of the family. The differences in the fathers’s relation to the senior or junior children are analyzed. The study involved 207 fathers of the four types of families : a family with one child , a family with two children, a family with three children and single-parent family with one child . The parental relationship assessed by the questionnaire for the diagnosis of a parent-child interaction (Markovskaya I.M.). The data was analyzed by one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: The highest differences were found for the following parameters: «emotional distance - closeness», «lack of cooperation - cooperation» and «satisfaction of relations with a child». For most of the characteristics of the relations difference between the fathers with one child and two children were observed. The father’s relations to child in two-parent and single-parent families were not significantly different.
