The article presents the results of a comprehensive study on the relationship of self-appraisal and typical features of handwriting. The study had shown mathematical proofs of correlation between self-appraisal and handwriting. It was found that in a group of people with low self-esteem there were significant statistical differences compared to other groups in the five following features of handwriting: size of left margin, size of handwriting, size of capital letters, irregularity of lines, and text layout. These characteristics may play the role of handwriting features in people with low self-esteem with a high level of probability (p ≤ 0.001). In the groups with normal and higher self-esteem, significant differences were found in four features of handwriting: handwriting size (p ≤ 0.05), size of capital letters (p ≤ 0.01), irregularity of lines (p ≤ 0.001) and text layout (p ≤ 0.001) that can also be taken into account in the analysis of handwriting. Significant correlation of self-appraisal and handwriting suggests that the study of handwriting can be considered not only as an additional diagnosis of the level of self-esteem, but also act as a basis of its psychological correction. Based on these results, the author has developed a technique for self-appraisal correction.
