EVERYDAY CONSCIOUSNESS: THE UNIFORMITY OF INTERPRETATION AND THE RATIO OF THE APPLIED TERMS

Consciousness is a multilevel, heterogeneous structure. In the human psyche there are elements of all levels: myth, ordinary consciousness, rational knowledge. The article presents a review of the terms related to ordinary consciousness in philosophy, sociology, psychology. In general, everyday consciousness is understood as a set of representations, attitudes and stereotypes arising in individual day-to-day experience and dominanting in the social community they pertain. However, there is no clear definition of the term. In this regard, everyday consciousness is correlated with other similar concepts - common thinking, social thinking, social representations, common sense, worldly concepts. We infer that the phenomenon of everyday consciousness has the following features: its content is characterized by internal contradictions, irrationality; it’s social in nature and is shared by a large group of people.
